Marisa Oldefest NCPT, CES, CMT

Founder and CEO of Peace Of Mind Pilates

Marisa is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher, Qualified Fletcher Pilates Teacher, Cancer Exercise Specialist, Certified Massage Therapist and Instructor Affiliate with Core Compassion Project. She has been teaching Pilates for over 26 years.

Marisa discovered Pilates after an auto accident left her with a neck injury. She attended her first Pilates private session at a physical therapy clinic and after just minutes into her Pilates practice she began to feel relief in her neck pain and knew she had to become a Pilates teacher to share the benefits of Pilates with others.

Marisa began her Pilates training in the Fletcher Pilates Method and became a Qualified Fletcher Pilates Teacher. She had the opportunity to study directly with Ron Fletcher before his passing. She has done continuing education with Kathy Grant and Cara Reeser. She is always continuing her Pilates education to be able to offer her clients the very best in the Pilates industry.

Marisa specializes in working with cancer survivors and those who suffer from neck and back pain as well as senior citizens. She also has worked with children, teens, athletes and dancers. In 2020, Marisa became an instructor affiliate with Core Compassion Project, a 501(c)3 that provides Pilates scholarships for women and men recovering from breast cancer.

Pilates is Marisa's passion and she truly loves teaching every body at every age and stage of their life! She is dedicated to helping others heal pain and injury through the Pilates method and helping everyone feel comfortable, strong and confident in their bodies!

When she is not in the Pilates studio, Marisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends and 2 dogs, reading and practicing Yoga and lifting weights.

Carissa Fernandez

Growing up as a dancer, I have always been drawn to movement. My journey with yoga and Pilates started over ten years ago and has expanded into something that resonates so strongly with me, I feel grateful to be able to share my love of these practices with others. I feel everyone can benefit either mentally, physically, emotionally, or a combination of all three from these practices. The challenge comes in simply finding a way to integrate these movement philosophies and practices into your life.

I am a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher who received my certification from Yandara Yoga Institute in Todos Santos, Mexico. I am a Balanced Body Certified Comprehensive Pilates Instructor who trained at EHS Pilates in San Francisco and San Mateo College. I am a TRX-certified instructor and Barre Above instructor. I am also a Reiki Master and a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. In 2020 I became a certified Master Pilates Instructor through the National Pilates Certification Program and began to host teacher trainings through various host studios. I love being able to share my experiences with future instructors. I am constantly learning new modalities of movement and healing and integrating this knowledge into my work with clients to help them move the best they can. I had taught movement for 13 years in Santa Cruz, California before moving to Denver in 2022. I love working one on one with clients as well as teaching fun and challenging group classes. I have a special interest in working with clients who are post-rehab, pre/post-natal, diagnosed with neurological conditions, actively aging, and athletic. I also host various workshops and retreats all over the country and even outside the United States!
